That being said, considering the time travel arc in fairy tail was really well done (that is, made sense to the point that you could figure out what's going to happen), I'm hyped about this one! I love time travel stories!

To be honest it was needed as they likely wouldn't have realized it this time around. That would push a need for another round of time travel as Rebecca would have noticed too late that everything was the same and likely would have ended in their defeat. Then Rebecca would have turned back again to get this result.

This simplified it a lot which is nice. Hermit is a good crew member simply because she's smart and can think of many possibilities.

Oh, that's foreshadowing to either just a simple detail for tracking or something very dark...
It could imply that Rebecca is not reversing time, but her consciousness is just leaping time-lines, meaning there are now 19 timelines Rebecca has leaped out of for some reason.
